The Celtic Tart – Our Motorhome

Introducing…. The Celtic Tart!!!!

Built on a Fiat Ducati Chassis, and fitted out as a Hobby 700 motorhome, the Celtic Tart was built in Germany,  and first registered in the UK in 2006.

She earned her name because she is now part of the Celtic brand, and she is just a little bit tartier than the Maid!!!

The Tart features a French bed (fixed bed at the rear with the bottom corner cut off to make more room to manoeuvre), a separate shower in the bathroom that has a familiar Thetford cassette toilet, good sized wardrobe and a cupboard with shelves that I’m using as my pantry, a fridge and freezer, gas oven and hob, sink with large benchtop space (for a motorhome), and very generous lounge/dining area with captain swivel seats. There is storage all the way around the top, two solar panels, two leisure batteries and a 3000watt inverter.

Underneath we have a very large garage space for storage (outdoor chairs and table, spare cassette, ramps and wheel chocks, awning poles, power cords and water hose, buckets…), and a Gaslow gas system for heating and cooking.

The motorhome is fully winterised – double floor (protecting both with fresh and wastewater tanks and providing insulation in extreme weather), double glazing and we have silver screens to protect the windscreen and cabin door windows.

But rather than bore you with all the stats, we will just share some photos of her.
